Robert Wagner bassoon
New Jersey Symphony
The “Jupiter” Symphony offers inspiration for the sheer miracle and Swiss-watch perfection of its final movement—and heartache, because this was Mozart’s last symphony. Beloved Principal Bassoon Robert Wagner has served New Jersey Symphony audiences for 42 years; he plays the East Coast premiere of Christopher Rouse’s lyrical concerto. And why not play with convention and end with a starter: the rousing “Hi-yo, Silver!” curtain-raiser to Rossini’s Guillaume Tell.
