New Jersey Symphony announces new Symphony Center in Jersey City

In a press event in Jersey City on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, the New Jersey Symphony announced that it will be expanding into Jersey City in a big way—with a new performing arts venue that will host New Jersey Symphony chamber music events and diversified programming, including non-classical events. The new Symphony Center will also become a permanent home base for the Symphony, with offices and space for education programs, expanding on the pioneering classical music education programs in Newark and throughout the State.

As fall colors flare, America’s most celebrated soprano adds the exquisite hues of her own voice to this concert, inspired by her 2023 GRAMMY Award-winning album, Voice of Nature: the Anthropocene. Come be immersed in the majesty of nature, as the music will be accompanied by stunning film by the National Geographic Society. This special performance includes an eclectic mix of nature-inspired songs, plus arias by Handel and Puccini, music from Lord of the Rings and Carousel, contemporary hits by Björk, Kevin Puts and Nico Muhly, and selections by famed film composer Ennio Morricone.
