The Count Basie Center Gospel Choir, under the direction of Gwen Moten, joins forces with the New Jersey Symphony Chamber Players for an evening of uplifting music that is sure to soothe your soul. This concert spotlights multiple genres and musical styles; featured composers such as George Walker and Dr. B. Dexter Allgood remind us all of the unparalleled power of live music. Accenting this unique collaboration is an exhibition of works by celebrated Newark artists, curated by Artfront Galleries.
The event venue, Ironside Newark, is located at 110 Edison Place in Newark, NJ. Please enter from the south side/parking lot side of the building.
Parking
Specially discounted $5 parking will be available after 5 pm at the Edison Parking Lot at 97 Lafayette Street—adjacent to Ironside Newark.
Safety Protocols
Safety remains of the utmost importance. In coordination with Ironside Newark, we will adhere to the safety protocols of masking and proof of COVID-19 vaccination per the current guidance from the CDC and from state and local health authorities, as stated below:
- Full vaccination OR testing required: All patrons age 5+ must show proof of COVID-19 vaccination via a vaccine card or through an app such as the Docket App OR present a negative COVID-19 test within 48 hours of the performance. Please have your information ready when entering the venue.
- Masks required: All patrons age 2+ must wear a mask.
Given the evolving nature of the COVID-19 pandemic, we will update these protocols if circumstances require. Patrons attending this event are required to abide by the above-mentioned safety protocols. Patrons without a mask or proper documentation of COVID-19 vaccination will not be admitted to the performance.
