-
MOZART Ave verum corpus
Stately, filled with grace; suspends time with a long-breathed melody. -
RHEINBERGER Abendlied for a cappella chorus
Rheinberger’s consoling piece proclaims: “Bide with us, for evening shadows darken, and the day will soon be over.” -
PARRY Flame for a cappella chorus
Parry’s contemporary work strikes a hopeful note with a quote from the Buddha: “A single flame that shares its light is but strengthened by this splitting in two.” -
MOZART Requiem
Was Mozart writing his own epitaph with this shattering work? Once experienced, it is never forgotten. -
This program will be performed without intermission.
