Zachary Neikens

Zachary Neikens is a native of Long Island, New York. He joined the New Jersey Symphony in March 2025 as Bass Trombonist. As an active freelancer in New York City, Zach has performed with the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, New York City Ballet, New York Philharmonic, American Composers Orchestra, American Ballet Theater and the Lincoln Center Festival Orchestra. He has also performed with the Philadelphia Orchestra, Naples (FL) Philharmonic and Jacksonville Symphony. He is a graduate of the Juilliard School where he studied with Blair Bollinger, John Rojak and Joe Alessi, and is a graduate Juilliard’s Pre-College Division as well. While in college, Zach was chosen as the winner of the 2021 Edward Kleinhammer Orchestral Bass Trombone competition at the International Trombone Festival. You can hear him perform on Juilliard’s Trombone Choir album, Holiday Classics.
