Jersey City Mayor narrates free chamber ensemble performance
The NJSO Chamber Players performed Peter and the Wolf with narration by Jersey City Mayor Steven Fulop at City Hall yesterday afternoon. The free concert was the first in a series of free community concerts in Jersey City and Plainfield, made possible through a two-year partnership between the NJSO and the PSEG Foundation that will help celebrate diversity within communities and connect families with unique cultural experiences.

The Jersey Journal previewed the performance, writing:
In Mayor Steve Fulop's efforts to establish Jersey City as a cultural destination, free concerts from the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra are the latest addition.
As part of a two-year partnership between the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra and the PSEG Foundation to celebrate diversity within communities, two classical shows are expected in Jersey City ...
"'Peter and the Wolf' is a timeless masterpiece that will introduce people of all ages to the world of classical music," Fulop said in a statement.
The New Jersey Symphony Orchestra will also present a Brass Quintet Performance at Hamilton Park on July 19, at 3 p.m.
"Bringing experiences like the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra to communities in which we serve is just one way the PSEG Foundation supports celebrating diversity," said Ellen Lambert, president of the PSEG Foundation.
Performances are free and open to the public. No prior registration is required. For more information, visit www.njsymphony.org.
