Lacombe to become Bonn Opera Chief Conductor in 2016–17

NJSO Music Director Jacques Lacombe will assume the post of Chief Conductor of the Bonn Opera in Germany, beginning in the 2016–17 season, the opera company has announced. Lacombe begins his final season at the helm of the NJSO with the Opening Night Celebration on September 25.

NJSO Board of Trustees Co-Chairs Ruth Lipper and Stephen Sichak Jr. said: “On behalf of the NJSO, we congratulate Jacques on the chief conductor position he will assume after his final season with the NJSO. We are excited to begin the incredible year Jacques has planned for his final season as the NJSO’s music director, and we know that Bonn Opera patrons will soon experience the same dynamic and sensitive performances NJSO audiences have come to expect from Jacques.”

Jacques has also just been appointed professor of conducting at the Montreal Conservatory of Music.
