New Jersey Symphony ‘decks the halls’ with a fun performance of The Muppet Christmas Carol in Concert

Dec 9, 2024

The New Jersey Symphony delivered five fun performances ot the beloved holiday film The Muppet Christmas Carol in Concert from December 5–8 in Morristown, Red Bank, Newark and New Brunswick, with Constantine Kitsopoulos taking the helm to conduct Miles Goodman’s score. James C. Taylor of NJ Advance Media was at NJPAC to review the Saturday matinee performance.

The music was in balance throughout, always keeping the focus on the Muppets — and of course Michael Caine in the role of Ebenezer Scrooge. The symphonic interlude that brought us back from intermission was played with crispness and charm, letting the NJPAC audience on Saturday afternoon savor the orchestra’s talents before getting back to the task of accompanying the action on screen.
