NJ Advance Media and Town Topics give Michelle Cann’s performance with the New Jersey Symphony solid reviews
NJ Advance Media described Cann’s performance with the orchestra as a ‘wicked church’ full of exciting music.
Cann’s hands were a wonder to watch. It felt that instead of simply playing the keys, she was almost kneading them to give the score the shape she wanted. It sounded different, it sounded raucous, and the result was “wicked” music indeed.

Town Topics also heaped praise for Cann’s performance with the Symphony during their concert in Princeton.
Cann played with great power, and at times it was hard to follow her very fast-moving hands. There were numerous extended passages for solo piano, ranging from elegantly lyrical to ferocious and lightning-quick octaves traveling the length of the keyboard, all of which Cann expertly executed.
