NJSO CHAMPS cut ribbon with Andre Agassi at school opening
NJSO CHAMPS musicians performed and then helped tennis star Andre Agassi—co-managing partner of the Turner-Agassi Charter School Facilities Fund—cut the ribbon at University Heights Charter School’s Upper School grand opening this morning.

NJSO CHAMPS (Character, Achievement and Music Project) is the Orchestra’s El Sistema-inspired, intensive education program; it seeks to develop students’ goal-directed behavior and skills to foster social and academic success. It also seeks to bolster students’ self-esteem, academic achievement and lifelong character traits like perseverance and leadership as they learn the intricacies of playing a stringed instrument.
