NJSO quintet performs free Mother’s Day concert
Star-Ledger photographer John O’Boyle was at the Van Vleck House and Gardens in Montclair on Sunday, May 12, for a free Mother’s Day concert featuring an NJSO brass quintet.
O’Boyle writes:
Musicians from the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra performed a free Mother’s Day concert at Van Vleck House and Gardens in Montclair ... About 250 people sat on portable chairs and blankets listening to five musicians — Vernon Post, Andrea Menousek, Derek Fenstermacher, David Larson and Christopher Stingle — perform on the portico.
“It’s a beautiful setting for music,” said Van Vleck House and Gardens music chair Jerry Raymond. “This time of year the purple Chinese wisteria are in full bloom”
Van Vleck House and Gardens provides free music programs throughout the year on the 5.8 acre estate.
