FROM THE STAGE
“To have [composer André Previn] in the audience for the U.S. premiere of his Cello Concerto [on Thursday night at bergenPAC in Englewood] was very special. I have always been a great admirer of composers who were also conductors, and people like Previn and Bernstein have been so fabulous at both. Daniel Müller-Schott, who premiered the concerto in Leipzig, is an outstanding musician, and I was excited to introduce him to New Jersey audiences.
“I spoke with [Previn] at intermission, and he was extremely pleased with the performance; the ovation the Orchestra and audience gave him was a wonderful moment.”
—Jacques Lacombe, Music Director
