Press Reviews and Features
“For all the care employed in the lead-up to the finale [of Bernstein’s Serenade], it was especially rewarding to hear a loose, fully committed performance of the rustic, playful, jazz-tinged music of the party band that interrupts the philosopher characters on which most of the work focuses. A duet with principal cellist Jonathan Spitz also stood out for its elegance. Throughout, Lacombe led a well-coordinated and dynamic performance.”

From the Stage
“I love every time Vadim Gluzman performs with the NJSO—he is the best, no matter what he’s playing, and hearing him is always a treat. The Bernstein [Serenade] is such a great piece; I love performing it, and it’s not something you often [have a chance to play] because it’s so difficult for both the soloist and the orchestra.
“As I was walking to my car after [Sunday's] performance, several patrons came up to me to ask what the encore was—they knew they recognized and loved the melody.”
