The Star-Ledger counts among the week’s best shows the NJSO POPS season finale, which brings the exceptional artists of Cirque de la Symphonie to NJPAC in Newark and the State Theatre in New Brunswick this weekend.
Cirque de la Symphonie in Newark — The New Jersey Symphony Orchestra pairs up with the acrobats, jugglers and strongmen of Cirque de la Symphonie this weekend. Music director Jacques Lacombe leads programs that may include selections from Bizet's "Carmen," Tchaikovsky's "Swan Lake" and John Williams' "Superman" score on Saturday at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center and on Sunday at the State Theatre, njsymphony.org
The Star-Ledger cites Broadway at Moorland as another top-five pick; the NJSO gives its annual performance at Moorland Farm in Far Hills on Thursday, June 5. The New Jersey Performing Arts Center and Far Hills Race Meeting Association present the outdoor concert, which benefits NJPAC’s education programs.
