Tanglewood program features NJSO English horn

NJSO English horn and oboist Andrew Adelson appeared with the Boston Symphony Orchestra at the Tanglewood Music Festival on an August 23 program that featured Berlioz's Roman Carnival Overture and Respighi's Roman Trilogy.

Adelson drew praise for his English horn performance from the WGBH concert broadcast. An audio stream of the broadcast is available on the WGBH website. (The English horn solo in the Berlioz overture starts at the 4:38 mark; Adelson and the NJSO are mentioned at 13:27.)

Pianist Kirill Gerstein, who performed Rachmaninoff's Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini on the Tanglewood program, will join the NJSO for Bernstein's epic Symphony No. 2, "The Age of Anxiety," in March.
