This weekend: Lacombe leads final NJSO concerts
The grand finale of Music Director Jacques Lacombe’s NJSO tenure began last night at bergenPAC in Englewood. Jacques leads his final two performances with the Orchestra this weekend at the Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank and New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark.
This special finale features two of Jacques’ favorite works by Ravel—including the gorgeous suite from Daphnis and Chloé—along with Rachmaninoff’s thrilling Third Piano Concerto with pianist Joyce Yang. The program opens with a piece by Chris Rogerson, one of the composers of the inaugural NJSO Edward T. Cone Composition Institute, which was inspired by Jacques’ passion for exciting artistic talent and his celebration of New Jersey's musical culture.
Jacques says, “This program feels like coming full circle and looking back on what we’ve done together on this journey, celebrating the quality of the orchestra and everything that’s happening in New Jersey.”
Don’t miss these farewell concerts!
