Times of Trenton features NJSO’s Princeton series
The Times of Trenton features the NJSO’s 2016–17 series at the Richardson Auditorium in Princeton in a classical season preview:
The New Jersey Symphony Orchestra will appear at Richardson Auditorium no less than six times this season, beginning on 10/7 at 8 p.m. Stewart Goodyear will join the group for Grieg's Piano Concerto. The orchestra's former associate conductor, Gemma New, will also lead Sibelius' Symphony No.2 and the "Aotearoa Overture" by New Zealand composer Douglas Lilburn (who clearly admired Sibelius).
Audiences will have the chance to witness the NJSO's new music director, Xian Zhang, in action on 10/28, 3/24, and 5/12. Other soloists slated to appear with the orchestra on its Princeton series will include Simon Trpčeski (Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto No. 1 on 10/28), Pinchas Zukerman (Beethoven's Violin Concerto on 1/20), Lukáš Vondráček (Shostakovich's Piano Concerto No. 1 on 3/24), and Jennifer Koh (Sibelius' Violin Concerto on 5/12).
