Tune in to WWFM July 23 at 7 pm for Cone Institute feature
Tune in to WWFM at 89.1 FM or www.wwfm.org on Saturday, July 23, at 7 pm as “A Tempo” goes inside the third-annual NJSO Edward T. Cone Composition Institute, which took place last week at Princeton University.
At the Institute, four emerging composers enjoyed an immersive week of workshops, rehearsals and sessions with industry leaders, working with the Institute Director Steven Mackey, conductor David Robertson and the NJSO. The Orchestra performed the composers’ music alongside Mackey’s Turn the Key at Scores: New Orchestral Works last Saturday, July 16, at the Richardson Auditorium in Princeton.
“A Tempo” host Rachel Katz was on the scene for a rehearsal and feedback session with NJSO musicians, and she sat down with the four Institute composers for a roundtable discussion about the Institute experience and their works.
