Music Director Xian Zhang has been very busy lately, conducting The Metropolitan Opera in Puccini’s Madama Butterfly and the Orchestra of St. Luke’s at Carnegie Hall in a last-minute appearance, and she will be wrapping up the New Jersey Symphony’s current season while preparing for further performances in Brazil, Saratoga Springs and at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles this summer. She recently chatted with James C. Taylor of NJ Advance Media about her busy schedule and what it is like to live in the moment as a world-renowned conductor.
